Pat Whiteside was named vice president, Business Support for Nicor Gas in February 2013. He is responsible for all top-line growth initiatives, workforce development projects and other company strategic plans. Nicor Gas serves 2.2 million customers and is a subsidiary of AGL Resources (NYSE: GAS), the largest natural gas-only distribution company in the United States based on customer count.

Previously, Mr. Whiteside served as vice president, Business Systems for AGL Resources where he was responsible for the development of integrated business systems for the AGL Resources enterprise.

Prior to that, Mr. Whiteside served as assistant vice president, Field Operations at Nicor Gas. In his 20 years at the company, he held varied roles of increasing responsibility in operations, business systems and scheduling.

Mr. Whiteside currently serves on the community board of Metropolitan Family Services DuPage, and is a board member of the Immaculate Conception Grade School, where he is the technology chair and a frequent volunteer. He also volunteers with the Elmhurst Baseball League.

He earned his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University and his master's of business administration from the University of Illinois.

Mr. Whiteside lives with his wife and four children in Elmhurst, Ill.
