Beth Reese is executive vice president and chief financial officer for Southern Company Gas. In this role, she directs finance, accounting and business planning functions for all Southern Company Gas businesses. Reese also supports Southern Company modernization initiatives designed to drive business efficiency and oversees transition management related to asset divestitures. She provides guidance regarding the vision, strategy and direction of the company as a member of the Southern Company Gas Management Council.

Formerly Reese served as senior vice president of Southern Company Gas and president of Nicor Gas in Illinois. She also served as controller and vice president over several of the company's functional areas, including operational planning and analysis, business innovation, customer service and finance. Prior to joining Southern Company Gas in 2000, Reese was a senior manager for the worldwide accounting and consulting firm of Deloitte LLP.

In addition to her business acumen, Reese is a champion for workforce development and diversity-related programs. She is the current chair of the Center for Workforce and Economic Development, a non-profit consortium of electric, natural gas, and nuclear utilities and their associations. She speaks regularly across the country on the importance of developing an energy workforce for the future, as well as on diversity and women leadership issues. Reese currently serves on the CFO Roundtable Advisory Board and the Healthcare Georgia Board and is a member of the Committee of 200.

Reese received her bachelor's degree from St. Andrews Presbyterian College and her master's degree in accounting from University of Georgia.
