Vice President, Customer Experience and Business Development, Retail Services
Barbara Porter was named vice president, Customer Experience and Business Development, Retail Services for AGL Resources (NYSE: GAS) in December 2011. She is responsible for a 200-agent call center that J.D. Power and Associates has recognized for five consecutive years as providing an outstanding customer service experience. Ms. Porter also manages business-to-business relationships and customer experience operations including marketing, business development, client relations and quality assurance.
Previously, Ms. Porter founded and led IBT Services, a leading call center in the utility/energy industry, which was acquired by Nicor National in 2005. Ms. Porter served as general manager until she was promoted to her current role.
Ms. Porter serves as the co-chair of the 2011 Southern Gas Association's Customer Experience Committee and sits on the board of advisors for the Enterprise Engagement Alliance. She is a member of WomenCorporateDirectors, a global organization championing best practices in corporate governance.
Ms. Porter earned her undergraduate degree from Bucknell University.
She resides in Batavia, Ill. with her husband, David.
