Vice President, Storage and Peaking Operations
James Pitts was named vice president, Storage and Peaking Operations of AGL Resources (NYSE: GAS) in December 2011. He is responsible for field operations of the following company facilities: AGL Resources' five liquefied natural gas facilities and three propane peaking plants; all regulated storage facilities supporting the Nicor Gas system in northern Illinois; and all non-regulated storage assets including Jefferson Island Storage & Hub in Louisiana, Golden Triangle Storage in Texas and Central Valley Gas Storage in California.
Previously, Mr. Pitts was vice president, Midstream Operations, where he was responsible for asset development of midstream projects and operations of midstream assets. He had oversight of Jefferson Island Storage & Hub and Golden Triangle Storage, both high-deliverability salt dome storage caverns. Working with AGL Resources since 2005, he served as a consultant advising on the development and operation of the company's salt dome storage assets.
Mr. Pitts began his natural gas career at Kinder Morgan, where he worked in various operations and engineering positions for nearly 30 years.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University and is a registered Professional Engineer.
Mr. Pitts lives in Spring, Texas with his wife, Saeng. They have three daughters and six grandchildren.
