Anthony McCain was named vice president, Resource Management for Southern Company Gas (formerly AGL Resources) in March 2015.

McCain is responsible for executing the strategic plan for the company's resource management organization, which is responsible for forecasting, scheduling and operations logistics for Southern Company Gas' seven natural gas companies – Atlanta Gas Light, Chattanooga Gas, Elizabethtown Gas, Elkton Gas, Florida City Gas, Nicor Gas and Virginia Natural Gas. He also is responsible for continuing the work on developing and executing the enterprise-wide consolidation of field technology, operational standardization and process improvement.

McCain joined Nicor Gas in 1986. He previously served the company as vice president of operations, vice president of field operations and as vice president of distribution. He also served as assistant vice president of customer support, assistant vice president of maintenance and assistant vice president of energy delivery.

Active in the industry and his community, McCain is a member of the American Association of Blacks in Energy, the American Gas Association, Leadership Greater Chicago and Will County Center of Economic Development. He also serves on the boards of Boys & Girls Club of Naperville, Chicago Urban League, Common Ground Alliance, Junior Achievement of Will County and Midwest Energy Association.

He earned his undergraduate degree and master in business administration from Illinois Benedictine College.

McCain lives with his wife and five children in Bolingbrook, Ill.
