Vice President, Energy Efficiency
Kevin Kirby was named vice president, Energy Efficiency for AGL Resources (NYSE: GAS) in December 2011. He is responsible for energy efficiency programs across all AGL Resources utilities: Atlanta Gas Light, Chattanooga Gas, Elizabethtown Gas, Elkton Gas, Florida City Gas, Nicor Gas and Virginia Natural Gas. With 4.5 million utility customers, AGL Resources is the largest natural gas-only distribution company in the United States by customer count.
Previously, Mr. Kirby served as vice president, Customer Care for Nicor Gas where he was responsible for the entire customer care operation including billing services, billing quality assurance, contact center, correspondence, credit and collection, customer relations, remittance, business customer support, gas transportation, special services and energy efficiency.
Mr. Kirby started with Nicor in 1984 as a supervisor and has held a variety of positions focused on customer service, including general manager of New Customer Additions, senior manager of Customer Care and president of Nicor Energy.
Mr. Kirby serves on the board of directors for the Northern Illinois University Executive Club and the advisory board for the Northern Illinois University College of Business. He is also an active member of the American Gas Association.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University in 1980 and his master's degree in business administration from Northern Illinois University in 2003.
He and his wife reside in Oswego, Ill. and have two grown children.
