Atlanta Gas Light

Jesse Killings was named vice president of Operations for Atlanta Gas Light in December 2011.

He is responsible for day-to-day operations of the utility as it meets the energy needs of more than 900,000 customers, including ensuring safety, compliance, operational excellence and financial performance. Atlanta Gas Light is a subsidiary of Southern Company Gas (formerly AGL Resources), the largest natural gas-only distribution company in the United States based on customer count.

Killings brings 24 years of company experience to his role. He has served six years in his current role as vice president of Atlanta Gas Light including interim leadership for Florida City Gas until an operating vice president was named. Previously he served as region manager, South Metro Region of Atlanta Gas Light, where he was responsible for all aspects of local operations, including managing distribution, field service and meter reading functions with a focus on safety, compliance and operational quality. Prior to that, he held several management positions in marketing, safety and training, regulatory compliance, and field operations.

Killings takes special interest in organizations that support education, mentoring and leadership of children. He has worked with boards and education-related committees of organizations, such as 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Fulton Education Foundation and South Fulton Chamber of Commerce, and Boys & Girls Club.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Tuskegee University.

A native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Killings is a proud father of two children.
