Robert Duvall was named vice president of Operations for Virginia Natural Gas and Elkton Gas in December 2011. He is responsible for day-to-day operations as these utilities meet the energy needs of more than 280,000 customers including ensuring safety, compliance, operational excellence and financial performance. These utilities are subsidiaries of AGL Resources (NYSE:GAS), the largest natural gas-only distribution company in the United States based on customer count.

Duvall's career at AGL Resources began in 1984. Prior to his current role, he served as vice president and general manager of Virginia and Maryland Operations for AGL Resources. Previously, Duvall served as managing director of Field Operations at Atlanta Gas Light, another AGL Resources subsidiary, and was responsible for the company's 1,500-mile distribution pipeline system and management of field services in Georgia. He has held a variety of positions within the company, including region manager for Atlanta Gas Light, project manager of Atlanta Gas Light's field service automation project, and region engineering and operations manager as well as various other engineering positions.

Duvall serves on the boards of Charitable Pledge Processing, Saint John the Apostle Catholic School and Greater Norfolk Corporation.

A native of Columbia, S.C., Duvall earned a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Clemson University. He is a registered professional engineer.

Duvall and his family reside in Virginia Beach, Va.
