Robert Cumbie was named vice president, Planning and Optimization for AGL Resources (NYSE: GAS) and senior vice president, SouthStar Energy Services in December 2011. Mr. Cumbie oversees strategic planning, budgeting, structuring and financial management for SouthStar.
Previously, Mr. Cumbie served SouthStar Energy Services as vice president, Business Development, Planning, Structuring and Chief Compliance Officer and as vice president, Business Development and Strategic Planning.
Before joining SouthStar Energy Services, Mr. Cumbie was principal of the Energy and Utilities Practice for Booz Allen Hamilton where he focused on corporate strategy, merger & acquisitions, financial management and operations for regulated and unregulated energy companies.
He earned his civil engineering degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and his master's of business administration with honors from Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.
Mr. Cumbie resides in Atlanta with his wife and two children.
